About Dawn Short
Hello, my name is Dawn Short, and I’m honored to be a candidate for Lincoln County Clerk of Court.

I’ve been married to my wonderful husband for 25 years, and together we’ve raised three amazing children. Today, we’re blessed to enjoy the laughter and love of two beautiful grandchildren, ages 3 years and 8 months. Family is at the heart of everything I do, and I cherish every moment we spend together.
Faith is a cornerstone of my life. I’m actively involved in my church, where I sing in the choir, help lead Sunday morning services, and participate in our Secret Sister prayer group. I also founded our Essential Closet, which provides everyday items—like soap, toothpaste, and shampoo—to those in need. Serving others is not just a passion; it’s a calling.

Faith
After the 2022 election, God placed a calling on my heart. I’m stepping out in faith, trusting His plan, and following where He leads. This journey has been guided by His hand and supported by incredible people He’s placed in my path.
Experience
I’ve worked in the Clerk of Court’s office for nearly 25 years, serving in civil, criminal, bookkeeping, and special proceedings departments. I’ve built a reputation for integrity, professionalism, and a deep commitment to justice. I’m still eager to learn and grow—and ready to lead.
Service
My career has been dedicated to public service. Now, I’m ready to serve Lincoln County with compassion, integrity, and commitment. This is my home, and I want to give back in a meaningful way.
